I've tried OKCUPID, it's alright, I've really only made 1 friend and a few conversational partners, but no one that I really wanted to date. It could be safe, depending on how you use it. 1.) never give out personal information likecredit card info, address, place of work. Hell, I even say I'm from a town over before I reallly know a person. 2.) meet in public places in the daytime, even better if you meet in groups. Like a double/group date! 3.) Do a little background checking, could hurt!

I am currently in an online relationship. I didn't mean him through a dating site, but on a message board. We talked for a few months before we sparked interest in each other. Before meeting we skyped many times where we could actually see each other and talk in real time. We have met a few times now and are currently talking about moving in with each other. It can truly be a great way to meet people, but you still should be cautious.
