Some people are like that. They may need time to come around. When around them treat them with kindness no matter how hard it is. And try to have as little contact as possible if they are impossible.

Thats how my boyfriends parents use to be when me and him first started dating and I don't know why they were like that I was so shy and polite around them. But now that me and him have been together for 3 years(4 if you count the first year, we were on and off alot) they love me like I am there own. They do anything for me and treat me like I am their daughter. So just give it time they should come around. = )

I'm in the same boat. My fil is fine but my mil...well she is my husband's step mom and never accepted him so she doesn't accept me. But i'm fine with it b/c it's not like she's his real mom. As long as she doesn't bother me, I'm fine.
